We’re proud to share that Ariel Tijman (PhD Candidate 02) recently took part in the 5th NextGenBiocat symposium, held on May 8–9, 2025, in Milan, Italy
Organized by and for young scientists, NextGenBiocat is a vibrant platform that brings together PhD candidates, postdocs, and early-career PIs to present and discuss the latest advances in biocatalysis—from enzyme engineering to light-driven catalysis and computational design.
Ariel, a member of the Biotransformation and Biocatalysis unit at University of Groningen, in the research group of Prof. Marco Fraaije, presented his poster titled:
“Impact of carbohydrate-based deep eutectic solvents on the stability and activity of flavoprotein oxidases”
His work contributed to the ongoing conversation on green solvent systems and enzyme stability, sparking thoughtful discussion among fellow researchers.
